Submissions

The deadline for Side B’s Summer 2012 issue will be MAY 15, 2012, to be released MID-JUNE. The theme is Sex, Gender, and Sexuality.

- All submissions should be sent through Submishmash or emailed to SIDEBSTAFF [AT] GMAIL [DOT] COM.
- We are interested in unpublished work and will consider simultaneous submissions, but require immediate notification if your work has been accepted elsewhere.

Art: We are looking for original pieces of art, including, but not limited to sketches, drawings, paintings, (photographs of) sculpture or mixed media, and stand-alone or serial original photography.

Poetry: All types of poetry will be considered with no definitive line limit. Please do not send more than 6 poems. Please submit in the body of your email. 

Prose: We are primarily looking for short stories, but will consider excerpts from novels, and stage plays. Our focus is on work below 3,000/~5 pages words. Please submit in the body of the email.

Nonfiction: We are looking for feature articles, interviews, and reviews concerning literature, art, music, film, theater, fashion, and society. Have an idea? Please pitch it to us at SIDEBSTAFF [AT] GMAIL [DOT] COM.

After you submit, please consider telling Duotrope Digest what you thought about our response times and your experience.

We will notify you that your work has been received within 48 hours. Average response time is between ~2-3 months, though it could be significantly less if your work fits the theme of the issue. We do not offer monetary reimbursement, but offer continuous support for you and your work.
