The Velvet Underground – After Hours

Maureen Tucker was the drummer for The Velvet Underground until she wasn’t.  After moving away from the band (following Lou Reed’s departure) and on with her life, she eventually found herself living in Georgia and working at a Walmart distribution center.  In 1989, a young band named Half Japanese “found” her (talent languishing), and invited Maureen Tucker to join them on tour.  Since then, she has released several solo albums and appeared as a guest artist on many more, including a Velvet Underground reunion.
